Back in Germany/Website almost done
Well I made it back to Germany all in one piece, the flight was pretty brutal because it seems like the planes keep getting smaller and it vacation time here so it was packed full of people. Yesterday was my first meeting at the church and it went well, there was another guy there Scott who is an american missionary aswell. At first it was kind of weird because it was all in German but we had a translator and after awhile i got used to just trying to pay attention to english. I also worked on the Warehouse a bit yesterday which was cool, I got to move some furniture around and dismantle a few beds and tables.
In other news my new website is almost done, I have some time today so thats what I plan on tackling today. If you would like to visit it you can at www.rickyismissing.com

July Newsletter
Well its about that time again to head off to Germany, it seems like these last few years thats pretty much been the routine. This last time being an exception though, instead of returning for the Spring semester I decided to stay home to earn some money. I had the wonderful opportunity to help out at a church in Eugene, Oregon. I did various jobs around the property including irrigation and painting...lots of painting haha. I also was able to help out with the Youth Group which was amazing. During that time I was able to earn enough money for a plane ticket back to Germany along with a new laptop which was something I have needed for awhile. God really used the time spent in Oregon to draw me closer to Him and gave me a “real” perspective on ministry, being able to see everything that it takes to run a church day by day gave me a new respect for people in full-time ministry.
Its been nice being able to take a break and get things in order a bit but I'm also really excited to be going back. Upon returning to Germany I will be helping out with the new skatepark ministry that the church is starting. It will be used to reach out to the local youth and provide a place for them to hang out, skate, and experience the love of Christ. This is something i’ve been looking forward to for awhile, when I first came to Germany I remember hearing it said that it might be done and even then being excited. Now a few years later I have had the privilege to see it take shape from a
storage place to a second hand shop and now a skatepark.
On top of my duties at the skatepark I plan to focus some of my spare time on Evangelism, over the course of me being there I have been able to build relationships with some of the local punks/metal kids and would like to continue to minister to them. One of the things that I have been working on over the break is a compilation CD titled “Set Apart” which will be comprised of Christian hardcore/metal/rock bands. There will be a gospel presentation at the end of the CD, my hope is that it will provide a way for them to relate to Christianity through music and be another step leading towards salvation. Progress on it has been really good, so far I have 12 bands and many of them being from highly respected record labels!
I’m looking forward to being a part of what God is doing in Germany, I know that it is not going to be easy and that I will be stretched but I’m more than willing to put myself in that position. Thank you to all of you who continue to pray for me and give encouraging words to me, it helps more than you know.
God Bless,
Ricky

The Missing Update!
Greetings from Oregon!
These past few months seem to have flown by, I spent the first month and a half trying to find a Job in Lancaster but that didnt work but its ok cause God had other plans for me. I was offered a job in Oregon by Jessica's (my girlfriend) Dad doing some odd jobs and remodeling an apartment. I decided that it would behoove (Thats the Word of the day!) me to take him up on the offer. Jessica was able to come down to California and spent a week here meeting my family and then we drove up to Oregon. Ive never been to another state before so this was pretty exciting for me and its beautiful over here, reminds me of Germany with all the tree's and.... rain. Aside from working I am also helping out with youth group, this last week I got to teach, share my testimony and play some games with the kids and we all had a great time.
One other thing that I have been working on here since I got here is something that I've been thinking about doing for the past couple years but just never gotten around to was making an audio CD tract. The whole idea came about from going street witnessing on Friday nights in Siegen. When I would have conversations with kids one thing that always came up was music and the subject would dominate the conversation because it was something we were both passionate about. Most of the kids I talk to are goth/punk kids and listen to the same types of music I do and a majority of the music they listened to is secular bands from America but a couple of them would be Christian and when I would point that out it would help open doors for the gospel and give them something to relate to. What I intend to do it get a bunch of Christian punk/hardcore/metal or as my mom calls "Noise" bands together to be apart of a CD that will be called "Set Apart". The CD will have music from all the bands and will finish off with an explanation of why the CD was made and a presentation of the gospel, which will be translated into German. My hope is that the CD will not only help to broaden peoples view of Christian music but to spread the gospel as well . So far its going well and I have gotten a pretty good response from bands who really want to be a part of this and are well known here in the states.
So if you could please pray for this, I'm still in the organizing phase of this and am trying to find a few more bands.
God Bless,
Ricky
